FAQ

Over the last 25 years we have heard just about every question customers ask when we show up at their homes. This list has been compiled to assist you in answering the most common questions.

Q. Will you call us before you start?

A. We always try, but not always. While efforts are made to keep everyone informed as to our schedule, we often will show up without prior notice. Many things impact our schedule, such as:

  • Type of work
  • Weather
  • Job size and crew size
  • Location

Many times jobs will be started in the middle of a day when people are at work. Often our efforts to contact customers ahead of time fall short. If you have a special request about our schedule, however, we will try to work with you.

Q. Will there be any extra charges?

A. Possibly. It is sometimes impossible to discover every condition on your home. This is especially true when it comes to replacement of rotted or deteriorated wood decking. You may incur extra necessary charges to replace rotted wood. We do not recommend that any rotted wood be covered up.

Q. What about my yard? Will you damage the grass, shrubs or driveway?

A. Like many other construction projects, there is a lot of equipment needed and a lot of debris handled. It is impossible to guarantee that the yard or driveway will not be affected. We will be careful but some damage could occur.

Q. Does someone need to be home while your workmen are at my house?

A. No. We are fully equipped to complete your project without your being there. Remember, this is noisy work; you may not want to be home.

Q. What if my walls or ceilings get cracked while you're working here?

A. Sometimes a ceiling or wall can crack. This is especially true on cathedral ceilings. In many cases this is unavoidable. If this happens we recommend that you notify your insurance company.

Q. How many workers will be doing my project?

A. It depends on how complicated the job is. Our crew size varies from 3-7 workers.

Q. My roof is being torn off and replaced. Will I experience any leakage during the project? If so, who is responsible for damage?

A. We are very careful when doing complete replacements of roofs. It is impossible to absolutely guarantee that no leaks will occur. The weather in this area is too unpredictable and sometimes leaks cannot be avoided. We will not tear off the roof and leave it completely unprotected. We always install new underlayment felt or cover the area with a tarp before we stop for the day. In most cases this is all that is needed. If you need additional assurances, please discuss this with your Advanced Roofing Inc representative.

Q. If I want to add some work to my original contract can I just inform the workmen to proceed?

A. Our workmen are instructed not to do unauthorized additional work. Please contact our office immediately and we will make every effort to comply with your request. This is important for your protection, as well as ours.
